Enjoy watching as we try to keep our monkey and lion grounded in reality and yet teach them to soar to the depths of an imaginary jungle.

Weekly Wrap-Up May 22, 2011
Preface: This week was very full. I know there are far too many photos but I couldn't seem to narrow it down any more. Next week I start my new job and Ryko starts school at the same place. So pictures will slow down.
Ryko has a new found love for money. He loves to get our change jars, dump them out, play with the money, and then put it away.
He loves to take good care of his baby, especially cleaning her.
She keeps him company during lunch.
He loves his Tata Bear and being under blankets. Especially when he is still waking up. :)
We spent a family night at the packaging plant "helping" dad work. :) It was a nice night.
Ryko finds the craziest place to keep his baby. ;)
He naps so beautifully!
Ryko watches the tractor work on our backyard. The septic system is being replaced with city sewer. Hallelujah!
Counting change again...
Talking to Bumpa
My garden is growing so beautifully. I love watching it change.
My flowers still live and thrive. :)
We took a family walk to the park. It melts my heart to see Ryko following his dada.
Some AWESOME (in my opinion) sky shots I took on our walk with my new outdoor lens.
Ryko climbs the slanted rock wall completely on his own. BIG boy!
He gets only a little help from dad for the vertical wall.
Swingin' Time!
Happily watching our boy.
Walking home...
An attempt at some fun shots of the moon.
Ryko wears earplugs to watch the tractor some more. He loves tractors.
Balloons from Metro Tech. He loves balloons...points them out whenever he sees them. :)
Ryko wearing dada's bling and hugging his bear.
Playing with Simon while mama get her hair trimmed. Ryko is next!
Multitasking as usual...
Look into the depths of this brown eyed boy. :)
He reads and then puts the book back in his backpack. LOVE!
He reads my new plaque like a book. ;)
Ryko is ready to rock the town of Globe but for now he is contained on the patio of our B&B room. :)
The A-J Family arriving to celebrate a cousin's graduation.
Ryko ruins The Indian Ruins.
Devours cake like a maniac.
The dancing begins...Ryko wants to rock out but the music is too loud.
The itsy bitsy spider on Ryko's arm.
The Avalos clan...
Great Tios & Tia...Pilars of our family!
Cousins
Another generation of cousins
Ryko is still full of energy the next morning. So we play in the Sanctuary at the B&B.
And another generation of cousins...
It was wonderful to see and spend time with so much of my dad's family this weekend. It was even greater that they finally had the opportunity to meet my husband and son for the first time. :)

Weekly Wrap-Up May 15, 2011
Monday Madness: Mama got a Canon DSLR!!!! Of course she naturally started snapping away in the direction of those she loves.

Ryko got a chance to try his first ICEE courtesy of dad. He was in love! But really who wouldn't be?!? I am still guilty of loving ICEEs. The only thing that keeps me from ingesting them daily is the idea that I would never be able to eat anything else considering the mass quantity of sugar and calories I am sure it contains.

Ryko took a break from all his daily busyness to water mama's flowers. Such a good helper.

When Mama got home from work Ryko talked on the phone and had some general fun around the house. Do you notice he is in a different location/playing in a different way in each shot? Yea, I love him but man does he exhaust me. He is always going to and fro with mama trailing behind. :)

We took a jaunt to the library when mama got home from work. Ryko found so many things to keep himself busy. He has a variety of interests....

Ryko got bedtime snuggles with Snickerdoodle, then fell fast asleep with his arm over his eyes....what a sight.

Wacky Wednesday: Mama stayed home for a morning interview and an afternoon with Ryko. Her interview went well and mama was offered a job with The Goddard School on the spot. Woohoo! Then silliness was had at the dollar and water store. Upon waking from his nap, Ryko hosted a bubble happy hour. Oh the smiles!

With Bubble Happy Hour complete it was decided Ryko and Mama needed a walk while dad mowed lawn. Get to work dad!

Ryko spotted dad standing around doing nothing and yelled at him. So he had to had to join us for more walking. He spotted some neighbor girls with a popsicle and wouldn't keep walking. So their kind father gave Ryko one too. :) Dad had to carry Ryko the rest of the way home (this is becoming far to much of a routine). When he doesn't want to go home he flat out refuses to move (or throws a horrible tantrum if you physically remove him and carry him)...it is hilarious for onlookers but sucks for us.

Ryko got settled into the idea of bedtime with George and dad.

Thursday Thriller: Ryko took a trip to the pediatrician's office for a shot. This was the first time he really responded to the shot. He said "ouch, hurt!" Then he cried for a minute and quickly proceeding to trying to smuggle out a toy. Yep, that's my boy. We were thirsty so on the way home we stopped at a local coffee shop. I think Ryko honestly may have enjoyed it more than me. Now I know where to make coffee dates if Ryko will be in tow. :)

Shhhh, it's a surprise....we also found a need for some head shot style photos of Ryko. So mama got to work snapping away....CAUTION: CUTENESS OVERLOAD

Who can resist some bath time fun?!? Surely not this mama.

Friday Fun: Dad and Ryko had some train track building fun.

Ryko cares for stuffed animals and babies with such open-hearted sweetness. He doesn't even mind wiping their butt when necessary. ;)

Car washing is hard work, good thing we have a little one to help.

Holding Tata bear like I still hold him any chance I get (boy it is getting few and far between).

Who knew?!?! Bowling shoes CAN be the cutest thing ever!

Tata bear was an integral part of Ryko's bowling.

He bowls like a pro...

We had one tuckered out Ryko after a full day and BOWLING for the first time!

Sensational Saturday: Ryko got a backpack and lunch box to start school on the 23rd. So he decided to break it in by taking it to the graduation party we went to.

Ryko was in heaven in the graduates pool. He also loved being the center of attention (as he was the only little person in attendance).

Dad caught a sensational photo of Mama, Ryko, & George at the party.

Ryko and Mama worked together to roll up the hose after all the pool fun. (I'm telling you GOOD HELPER.)

Then there was bear and blanket fun before bed.
